Neighbourhood Planning - free training for councillors and residents
Thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to the Parish Plan and Visual Design Statement that we undertook between 2008 and 2011. We are now required to produce a Neighbourhood Plan. Most of the work is done but to understand it better there will be free training at the Village Hall on Monday 10 March 2014 on how to put this plan together. The training takes place between 7 and 9pm.-
Develop a shared vision for your neighbourhood.
- Choose where new homes, shops, offices and other development should be built.
- Identify and protect important local green spaces.
- Influence what new buildings should look like.

Unveiling of the restored plaque on Meriden's roundabout by the Village Green
The Mayor of Solihull will attend the unveiling ceremony at noon on Monday 24 March. The milestone shaped plaque sits under the oak tree on the roundabout by the Village Green. It was originally unveiled on Monday 24 March 1962 by Alderman Bernard Hornby Hunt from Warwickshire County Council. This was to mark the completion of the by-pass in 1958 whereby Meriden became a Village once again.
Alderman Hunt's family will also be in attendance who kindly offered to pay for its restoration.
Parish Council Meeting
The next parish council meeting is on Monday 24 March 2014 at the Pavilion, Meriden Sports Park from 7.30pm.
